St. John the Evangelist in West Chester first began a mission relationship with Church of the Good Shepherd in Campton, Kentucky in the late 1990's. Originally based around food, clothing, school supplies, and toy drives, eventually a desire for a more hands-on service opportunity emerged.
What resulted was the annual Hope Mountain Camp. Every June, high school and college students, along with adult volunteers travel to Campton to host a day camp for local Appalachian children aged 8-12. The goal is always two-fold: build a relationship between our two communities and instill a sense of pride among the local children for their heritage. We are excited to continue this time-honored tradition.
The mission trip is only possible with the right number of volunteers. We hope that you will pray and consider joining us for the week!

Adults are critical to the trip's success. We need you for transportation, food prep, and activity leading. Activities will include rock climbing, swimming, kayaking, ziplining, hiking, arts & crafts, and more.
