We are excited to soon celebrate First Eucharist with your family. Children in the second grade and up are invited to prepare for the celebration of this sacrament. First Eucharist preparation is a process that includes parent-guided learning, weekly participation in Mass, and additional group gatherings for communal preparation and dialogue. A registration fee provides student textbook, parent guide, and retreat programming. Your child must have completed their First Reconciliation to be eligible for First Holy Communion in the spring.

If your child is in 4th grade or older, they’ll need to go through OCIC, not the 2nd-grade First Communion program. The Church believes that by this age, children are ready to understand and receive both First Communion and Confirmation together. There are exceptions only for kids with specific emotional or developmental needs.

Baptismal Certificate
Children must be baptized to celebrate the sacrament of the Eucharist, and we must have a copy of the candidate's Baptismal Certificate on file.
If your child was baptized at a church outside of the St. Carlo Acutis Family of Parishes, please connect with that church, and they will provide you with a certificate that you can forward to the Director of Parish Life.
Those who were baptized at St. Gabriel, St. John, or St. Michael do not need to send in a Baptismal Certificate, as we already have it on file.
